Journal entry approvals with the backup attached

Approving a journal entry usually means opening an email, hunting for the spreadsheet behind it, and checking that the person who prepared it is not also the one posting it. In Ledge, Accounting Agents draft each entry from source data, and it moves from preparer to reviewer to approver with the working paper attached at every step.

What the Accounting Agent prepares

  • Drafted entries for accruals, prepaids, reclasses, intercompany, and FX, built from source data
  • Entry lines generated from the working paper, with live formulas and supporting schedules
  • Each entry routed to the preparer, reviewer, and approver set for its task, by person or role
  • Reviewer notes, edits, and rejections recorded against the entry
  • Posting evidence attached to the close task once the entry is in your ERP

How it works

  1. Pull the data. The Accounting Agent pulls balances and transactions from your ERP and connected systems, not from manual exports.
  2. Prepare the work in your logic and format. It applies your thresholds, mappings, and entry structure, drafts the entry, and sends it to the reviewer assigned to that task.
  3. Review and approve. Reviewers edit, reject, or approve. The approved version posts to NetSuite, where you can also require a second approval before it reaches the ledger. Sage Intacct is supported too.

What stays in your control

  • Role-based permissions for who can view, edit, approve, and post
  • Segregation of duties between the preparer and the approver
  • Every draft, edit, approval, and posting retained in the task history

FAQ

Does Ledge post journal entries automatically?

No. Accounting Agents draft entries, and nothing posts to your ERP until an authorized approver signs off.

Can we keep our existing NetSuite approval routing?

Yes. You can approve in Ledge, keep your existing NetSuite approval routing, or require approval in both systems before an entry posts.

What happens when a drafted entry is wrong?

The reviewer corrects or rejects it, and the corrected version is the one that posts. The Accounting Agent carries that correction into future periods.
