Close checklist software where the work gets done

Most close checklists sit in a spreadsheet or a tracker that someone updates by hand, then chases on email to keep current. Ledge runs your checklist with owners, due dates, and dependencies, and Accounting Agents prepare the work inside each task, so the status reflects what has actually been done.

What the Accounting Agent prepares

  • Reconciliations, working papers, and drafted entries inside each task, ready before the reviewer opens it
  • Each task sent to review once its work is prepared, with the working paper attached
  • New reconciliation and flux tasks when a new GL account, segment, or subsidiary appears in NetSuite
  • Task status that follows the prepared work, not a manual update

How it works

  1. Pull the data. Ledge imports your current checklist, with a preparer, reviewer, and due date on every task, and connects to your ERP and source systems so each task has the data it needs.
  2. Prepare the work in your logic and format. Accounting Agents attached to tasks build the reconciliation, working paper, or entry the way your team already does it, and the task moves to review when it is ready.
  3. Review and approve. Reviewers sign off inside the task. Any journal entry in it posts to your ERP only once you approve.

What stays in your control

  • Preparer and reviewer sign-offs recorded on every task
  • Task changes, approvals, reopenings, and comments logged automatically
  • Views filtered by entity, owner, category, or risk, so you decide where to look first

FAQ

What is month-end close checklist management?

It is the work of assigning close tasks, setting due dates, tracking status, and making sure each task is prepared and reviewed before the books close. In Ledge, the checklist also holds the prepared work itself, not just a status flag.

How is Ledge different from a checklist-only close tool?

Ledge tracks the close and prepares the work inside it. Like a checklist tool, it runs entity-specific checklists with group tasks set centrally, blocks a task until the work it relies on is complete, and sends reminders by email, Slack, or Microsoft Teams. Unlike one, its Accounting Agents pull the data, build working papers, run reconciliations, and draft entries for your team to review.

How long does it take to set up?

Ledge connects to NetSuite in hours, and setup and configuration take about a week. The first Accounting Agent typically runs within two weeks, and most of the close arrives prepared within 30 days.
