Bank reconciliation, prepared before the close starts

Most teams still download statements, export the GL, and match line by line in a spreadsheet, then chase the few items that refuse to tie. Ledge's Accounting Agent pulls both sides, matches transactions continuously, and opens the task with the reconciliation already tied and the exceptions explained.

What the Accounting Agent prepares

  • A month-end bank reconciliation for every account, in your format, with bank and GL balances tied
  • Transaction-level matches between bank activity and GL activity, with the matching logic visible
  • An exception list for unmatched items, with transaction details, possible matches, and the reason each one did not match
  • Drafted journal entries for missing transactions, such as bank fees and interest
  • Source-data tabs and a sign-off trail your auditors can follow

How it works

  1. Pull the data. The Accounting Agent connects to your bank feeds and your ERP. Ledge connects to 11,000+ banks worldwide.
  2. Prepare the work in your logic and format. It applies your matching rules, builds the reconciliation workbook with live formulas, and flags what it cannot match instead of forcing it.
  3. Review and approve. You review the exceptions and drafted entries, adjust what needs judgment, and approve. Approved entries post to NetSuite, or to Sage Intacct if that is your ERP. Nothing posts before you approve.

What stays in your control

  • Every match and exception traces back to the bank line and the GL transaction
  • Drafted entries wait for your approval, and every approval is logged with preparer and reviewer
  • Corrections you make carry into next month's reconciliation

FAQ

Can bank reconciliation be automated without losing control?

Yes. The Accounting Agent prepares the matches, exceptions, and drafted entries, and a person reviews and approves before anything reaches the ledger. Each step is visible, so the reviewer sees why an item matched or did not.

What happens to bank transactions that don't match?

They are flagged as exceptions with the transaction details, possible matches, and the reason for the mismatch. Ledge does not guess or force a match, and nothing is silently skipped.

Does it work across many bank accounts and entities?

Yes. Each account gets its own reconciliation, and on NetSuite, Ledge detects subsidiaries and creates reconciliation tasks for each one.
