AP reconciliation without the report stitching
Payables can't be signed off until the open bills report agrees with the AP control account, and the timing of bills and payments, plus manual entries to the control account, keep pushing the two apart. Ledge's Accounting Agent prepares that tie-out every period, vendor by vendor, with each difference traced to the transaction that caused it.
What the Accounting Agent prepares
- AP subledger to GL reconciliation for each entity and payables account
- Reconciling items explained, such as manual entries to the control account, timing of bills and payments, or FX
- Open bill detail by vendor, tied to the subledger total
- Drafted correcting entries where something was posted to the wrong account
- A working paper with source tabs and sign-off history
How it works
- Pull the data. The Accounting Agent pulls open bills, vendor balances, and the AP control account from your ERP.
- Prepare the work in your logic and format. It builds the reconciliation in your structure and lists every reconciling item with its source transaction.
- Review and approve. You review the differences and approve any correcting entries, which then post to your ERP. Nothing posts without that approval.
What stays in your control
- You decide how each reconciling item is resolved
- Correcting entries need approval to post, and preparer and reviewer are recorded
- The working paper, source data, and sign-offs stay attached to the close task

FAQ
What does an AP reconciliation check?
It checks that open vendor balances in the AP subledger equal the accounts payable balance in the general ledger. Any difference is identified and explained or corrected before the period closes.
How often can AP be reconciled in Ledge?
As often as you choose. Month end is the usual minimum. Because the Accounting Agent prepares each run from current data, a more frequent reconciliation adds review time, not a rebuild.
Does AP reconciliation work with NetSuite?
Yes. The Accounting Agent pulls subledger and GL data from NetSuite, and approved corrections post back to it. Sage Intacct is supported too.
